Pandemic bullshit

Updated here.

Like a dog humping your leg, the media just can’t help itself.

  • pandemic: epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large proportion of the population;
  • epidemic: spreading rapidly and extensively by infection and affecting many individuals in an area or a population at the same time.

Is anyone else fed up with the constant bullshit being spewed by the mainstream media in its latest attempt to garner viewers and convince them that they’re all on the way to hell? If you’re lucky enough to have escaped the market meltdown, if you’ve avoided the declining housing price debacle, and if you haven’t been tortured or had your constitutional rights violated by the BushCo admininstation, you’re going to catch a fatal disease and die, mutherfucker!

The sooner the better.

A doddering senior citizen and his ignorance

Elected or appointed, they’re all the same:

John McCain is the latest high-profile politician to repeat the diehard American falsehood that the 9-11 terrorists entered the United States through Canada. –ctv.ca, The Canadian Press

No, the 9/11 terrorists were given visas from American embassies in the middle east. Regardless of that fact, who was it who let them into America?

The blame game continues.

Here’s the real problem for America:

It’s the Mexican border, stupid.

Oh, sorry. I digress. The real problem.

Right.

  • Politicians.
  • Ignorance of the facts.
  • Believing what you are fed.
  • A mind that doesn’t question.
  • Handlers and briefers that have no clue whatsoever, and are unable or unwilling to educate themselves in an unbiased manner.

For example, see here for recent and current information from an American of note, i.e., Mark Borkowski, executive director of the Secure Border Initiative at Customs and Border Protection. Did anyone read his report?

On the other hand, it is America’s border, and they, and only they, can be held responsible for who they let into their country. The fact that they refuse entry to a few people who appear on a terror watch list who might happen to be attempting entry via Canada, or any other country, is America’s problem.

One more pet peeve, if you will allow me the indulgence for a moment: For Christ’s sake, is there an American anywhere who knows where the 9/11 terrorists originated? There must be one somewhere. There’s a war going on over it right this very minute in Iraq.

If you believe that, I’ve got some prime residential property in Florida to sell you at an unbelievable price. Trust me, and in 12 to 18 months you’ll recoup all of your previous losses with this property.

Here’s a link to a previous post on the border blame game. If you’re unsure where the 9/11 terrorists originated, you might want to have a look.

Places to eat – Vancouver, Canada

Hue Cafe, Richmond, Vancouver

Huê Café – Richmond, British Columbia

Hours: 10 to 8, 11 to 6 on Sunday

Updated July 26, 2009: I’m back here again, and still not disappointed in the food or the friendliness of the owner. This time I had the pho (beef noodle soup) and a Vietnamese ham baguette. The baguette is nice and crisp, and very fresh. The pho alone was filling enough, but I didn’t disappoint myself by taking the baguette to go. I ate it there, while conversing with the owner.

All of that for less than 12 dollars, not including tip. How can you beat it?

An amazing place, not to be missed in Richmond (Vancouver, British Columbia).

Pho (beef noodle soup) and a Vietnamese ham baguette.

I found this little gem completely by accident while heading back to the Delta. The tiny cafe has eight or nine tables in a small strip mall across from the Richmond Mall on No. 3 Road. The chef is the owner, and he’s more than willing to suggest things to try from the short menu hanging on the wall.

I’ll be eating there every night for the rest of the week.

Here’s a link to some local reviews. Ignore goonboy’s, since he is so obviously confused.

Don't forget to squeeze the lime over the bowl

Now what’s not to like about that? The chicken currey with noodles was a big hit.

Billy Bob

Thornton.

Fuck you, hillBilly Bob.

I could elaborate, but I don’t really feel the need, since the Boxmasters are known only because some hillbilly play-actor bangs away on a set of drums like a Parkinsons-afflicted retard.

Update: No great loss. Watch the abbreviated video in the link. I suspect Willie Nelson, who he was opening for, gave him the boot and the hillBilly came up with the flu story to cover his ‘artiste’ ass.

Willie is a professional, and I suspect that he didn’t want hillBilly & Co. screwing up his show any more than he already has screwed it up. I feel a glimmer of sorrow for the other three bandmembers in hillBilly’s group. In the video, they don’t look exactly pleased to be there, and I wonder if that was an indication of what was to come.
