Those damned Albertans (of which I am now one, sadly) don't take kindly to O Canada being sung in French. On the other hand, I've never heard anyone else booing the Canadian anthem. It's a uniquely Canadian thing. It doesn't mean we're unpatriotic; it means we're Canadian. Try explaining that to an American friend (which I have done), and watch heads explode. Of course, lots will try and sing along and screw it up, which may be an insult in and of itself, but no booing that I've seen. Wow.
